The grounds include a park with
restrooms, picnic tables, grills, playground, picnic pavilion, 1870
light tower, keepers dwelling, 1905 keepers residence and gift shop.
The 99 acre park is surrounded on three sides by beautiful Lake Huron
with numerous nature trails and rocky beaches. It is the perfect place to watch the sun set. The facility is within minutes of the
Grand Lake Hotel.

Presque Isle Harbour. (Additional information). This is a beautiful site for a picnic lunch. There is a gift
shop, port-a-john, no grills, no playground...just peace and quiet. The original
owner of the Grand Lake Hotel at one time owned this lighthouse and
property for his guests to visit and picnic with their families. The
facility is within minutes of the Grand Lake Hotel.

2013 Lighthouse Festival
Open the Friday before Memorial day to the end of the Great Lakes Lighthouse Festival in mid October. Tour hours are Tuesday thru Sunday 10am to 4pm. Many structures that were part of the installation remain; the lighthouse, lighthouse keepers quarters, bunkhouse, foghorn signal building, oil house and brick outhouse. The surrounding park also houses the wheelhouse of the first Calcite freighter.
Take US-23 north of Rogers City approximately 7 miles. The lighthouse is located in Presque Isle County's Lighthouse Park. DO NOT TURN at 40 Mile Point Ave. A brown "Lighthouse 1/2 mile" sign is located just beyond 40 Mile Point Ave. As you approach the park, you will see a large, brown Lighthouse Park sign on the right side of the road. The park entrance is approximately 100 yards north of this sign. The lighthouse is located 35 minuets north of the Grand Lake Hotel.
Min-Hunt Nature Preserve - of the Thunder Bay Audubon Society
This is a Mature woods and old apple orchard with a nice hiking trail through it. Warblers and woodland species abound.
Located at the north end of Long Lake in Presque Isle County, this preserve is owned by the Thunder Bay Audubon Society. From the Hotel turn right onto East Grand Lake Road and continue west at the township hall on Rayburn Highway. Turn left onto US23 (south) and turn right (west) on Shubert Highway. Go 1.5 miles, a sign on the north side of the road marks the preserve. 15 minutes. Additional Information
