Grand Lake Hotel

The Grand Lake Hotel was
first opened in 1912. The Hotel was built by Bliss Stebbins and then
later in 1972 was owned by my Uncle Bill for 40 years. He used it as his summer home and a weekly vacation rental. In the
early years the Hotel was the main lodge for the property that also
offered rental cabins on Grand Lake, several still remain now in private ownership. The
Hotel property sits directly on the Lake with 162 feet of lake
frontage. The 2.38 acre property has a tennis/pickleball court, fire pit, sundeck and dock. While a boat is not supplied, boat rentals
are available around the lake. Our rental guests have access to the lobby, dining room, formal dining room, a game
area, kitchen and 2 porches. While some are building new ultramodern homes, we are what historical rustic Grand Lake is all about.
Grand Lake is a beautiful
5660 acre lake, approximately 7 miles long and averages 1.5 miles
wide with some 16 islands of various size. It is the 19th
largest lake in the state of Michigan. Fishing in Grand Lake has
greatly improved over the past several years offering northern pike,
small mouth bass, rock bass, large mouth bass, walleye, yellow perch, pumpkin seed
sunfish, bluegill and even the occasional trout. The lake is within minutes of Lake Huron
accessible from Presque Isle Harbor. This year we will be offering special event rentals that
include exclusive use of the 112 year old Grand Lake Hotel. We hope
that you will come and enjoy all that Grand Lake and Presque Isle
Township have to offer. Be it an engagement party, bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, small wedding, anniversary party, retirement party, family gathering, birthday party, corporate venue or overflow guests from your gathering or celebration. Our community has two historic lighthouses
for you to climb and explore. The Birch Hill Grocery has fuel, gifts,
pizza and ice cream. Enjoy dinner at the Hideaway Bar, Austin Brothers Brewery, explore Alpena, Rogers City or remain at the Hotel with kitchen privileges and fix your own special meal and take in the
peaceful views of Grand Lake.
